Welcome to Japan Fair @ AEON Bandar Utama

Yesterday AEON Bandar Utama (1 Utama) launched their collaboration with Japan's national Tourism Organization (JNTO) for their "Welcome to Japan Fair & Iwata Food Fair" which is currently ongoing since yesterday, 26th Dec 2013 to 1st Jan 2014.

Japan is aiming to be one of ultimate tourist destination and by having this event together with AEON, JNTO hopes to inspire more Malaysians to visit this beautiful land of the rising sun.
I think many Malaysians dream of visiting Japan at least once and through this fair it allows us one step closer to achieving our dreams.
My dream would be to stay there for good lol :D

The opening performances by JNTO was great and so happen i remember a few familiar faces from last year's Publika Bon odori dance :D

This whole week will be lined up with activities that is opened for the public to join, such as:
  • Novelty & Redemption
  • Message Dedication
  • Origami Folding workshop
  • Ninja game

Write your wishes/ message dedication down on one of the origami-s
Hope my wish comes true one day *cross fingers*

Find your lucky spot on the sakura wall to hang it.
Pray hard that your wish comes true!

Learn how to make all sorts of origamis and bring them home.
Learnt how to make a few different designs yesterday :D

They have also organized a few workshop and performances at certain time slots every day of the fair which i will list down below so you won't miss this opportunity to get upclose with their rich culture.
  • Japanese Cooking demo
  • Kimono workshop
  • Wadaiko Drum Performance
  • Ninja performance
  • Yosakoi drum performance

For their full schedule which is available in their Iwata Food fair, feel free to drop by AEON to check it out.
Speaking of food, i think you might also want to check out the various amount of Japanese food this fair has to offer ranging from fresh to preserved at unbeatable promotional prices.

I myself bought 3 types (2 of each, so in total 6 apples ♥) of fresh Japanese Apples that was just imported recently.
Finally get to try those huge apples myself :D

From far left:  Shinano Gold (crunchy), Fuji (sweet) and Ohrin (soft)

They are HUGE!!! I could barely finish one whole apple myself >.<
For RM3 each was totally worth it! Think i might go back and get some more before 1st Jan lol

My personal experience of trying one of these apples last year which i bought from Aeon Mid Valley out of curiosity wasn't so pleasant because they were overripe and mushy :-(
Not to mention VERY pricey too >.< costs me about RM20 for 2 overripe apples *sobs*
This time it's considered dirt cheap for a Japanese fruit, hope they have the same promotion for their peaches too.

Just spend a minimal of RM20 at the Iwata Food Fair to be eligible for this lucky draw.
Who knows you might be lucky to win yourself a dream trip to Japan. Also a don't forget to redeem your free Doraemon fridge magnet (while stocks lasts).

Show the redemption counter at Iwata Fair your receipt of purchase in exchange of a lucky draw form, fill in your particular details and drop it in the box.
Who knows you might be one of the lucky winners to win a trip to Japan!

XOXO,
