Welcome to my blog!

If you are in for an adventure paired with lengthy, quirky, brutal honest thoughts then you are in the right place.

My name is Arisa and was a cosplayer for 12 years in Malaysia before settling down in Kyoto, Japan. Exploring Japan full time has been a long time dream of mine, so let's explore it together!

"Nasi Goreng Tanpa Nasi!"

Woke up late today but at least i wasn't too lazy to do my initial plans to bake and cook lunch as I've proudly prepared everything the night before. Wohooooo~
For once this is properly planned instead of one of my impromptu food experiments and on the bright side now i have 2 guinea pigs in the house to test them on aside from myself lol *evil laughter*

Actually one of the reasons why i even decided to be so rajin to cook today is because i managed to pick up my Rakuten parcel from my mom yesterday (thanks mumsie 。◕‿◕。)
I am not much of a shopaholic unless it's a really good deal or it's something i need, ain't rich so can't spend money like water 8D haha! Anyway now water bill also ain't cheap since everything seems to be going up including tolls, sugar and more nonsense. I give up on this country already.

So happen i was one of the lucky giveaway winners selected for Rakuten's daily RM50 voucher giveaway, which i didn't recall joining (goldfish me) and it was going to expire on 31st Dec 2013. Was gonna let it burn since i don't really need anything for the time being but till i came across the kitchenware section that was having some utensils at very affordable prices.

If you remember a few days ago i was asking on my twitter which is more useful, a slow cooker or non stick frying woks. Guess there wasn't any regrets not getting the slow cooker, anyway how often do i even cook soup or stew?
Yes, lazy fart i am. So what ( ̄^ ̄)

These are one the websites where they compile a list of e-shops on their website to make it easier for shoppers to find stuff they need ranging from beauty, fashion to household items.
After browsing for quite some time I have finally made up my mind to get these 3 items since the price seems considerably decent for "non stick" items.
Trust me, non stick stuffs are heaven sent stuff, little oil usage (healthier) and easy cleaning too!

Also found the seller's official Facebook page: Big Spoon Kitchenware

Using that RM50 voucher that I've won, barely paid RM20 for everything XD
So worth it! *shiawase max* Now i have no excuses not to experiment more with food.

Shipping speed was no exception, it was delivered to my parent's house within 1-2 working days and also came in bubble wrap.
This is my first time buying kitchenware from online shops, which is kinda risky because you can't really assure the quality before purchasing Well..hell yea i am glad i took that risk and can proudly announce that Big Spoon Kitchenware is a seriously affordable brand that comes in sizes that makes portions for 1-2 people.

P/S: Ain't another advertorial post, just sharing my experience since small things like these make me insanely excited /slaps self lol

After a super long boring post about my shopping experience, i guess most of you would have closed the tab by now but don't say i didn't share the good stuff with you ah! :-P

Remember this picture on my Instagram : http://instagram.com/arisa_chow
Promised to share the recipe so here it is, hope you guys enjoy this experiment as much as i did :D

This is where I proudly present my "Nasi Goreng Kampung Tanpa Nasi" and no, it's not one of those lame mamak jokes where you go "Milo ais tanpa ais"<--apparently Nestle has really invented those XD You can find those in Jusco, all you have to do is add in cold water.

That my dearies, ain't rice. Surprised?
Because I am, never thought this stuff is even possible lol

So if one of your resolutions for 2014 is to eat healthier or lose weight you might want to start following my blog for my health obsessed, low calorie recipes (new genre to add to my tags) :D

I didn't create them from a scratch but just add a lil Malaysia twist to it since i personally miss the rich taste of Malaysian food especially Nyonya food *sobs*
But that is the price i had to pay for my vanity :-/

Ingredients:
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Long Beans
  • Ikan bilis
  • Light sauce (but i replaced mine with Liquid Aminos
  • Cili Padi (optional)
  • Eggs
  • Diced Chicken
and the last ingredient is.....

............

....................................

Okay la, here is the secret : Cauliflower
Our country is very known for high carbohydrate intake in almost every meal, could be rice, noodles..etc and portions are insanely huge that also explains our sizes (this is where you can't blame genetics :-P)

Put the cleaned and roughly chopped cauliflower in the blender/ food processor but blend them until they are grainy. Be careful not to blend them too long or it might end up very mushy *eww*

Instead of having the usual fried rice why not try this instead, it taste almost the same (including texture) but heck it's 100%  carb free :D
Suitable for those who go on the HGC weight loss treatments because it's oil-free, salt-free and carb-free.

Taking care of your personal well being is by choice, but that doesn't mean you have to give up everything delicious :-)
I personally learnt this the hard way for 2 years.
So now i am trying to fix it by substituting them with a more healthier option.

Couldn't wait to try the non stick frying wok i bought from Big Spoon Kitchenware on Rakuten.com

The rest of the process is rather easy, just dump everything in like the usual fried rice, if you tak tau how to fry rice please go jump off building -_-
It's like one of the basic kitchen stuff we learn from our mom/maid when we were 12!
No exception for guys also, and there is no such thing that kitchen is only meant for girls >.> Sexists sial.

There is no exact measurements for the pepper and light sauce, just 'agak-agak' (estimate) to suit your taste buds :-)

Tadaaaaaaaaaaa! The outcome of it :D

Photos turn out lovely because of Samsung babeh!!! :D
Taken by my phone by the way, would be crazy to bring an expensive camera to the kitchen especially when my hands smells fishy XD

XOXO,
