Coming Soon #ASNTM5: Expect the Unexpected

So much of dem feels when i saw the first episode before you guys last night lol but sorry i've signed a disclosure form so i am unable to reveal the juicy bits of Starworld's hottest reality TV show. Too bad, you guys gotta wait till it starts airing next week on 5th April 2017, 9pm on Starworld ASTRO channel 711 and 722 HD.

Thank you FOX Networks for the invitation

How fast time has passed since the first season when my friend Melissa Th'ng was the first Malaysian representative for this modeling reality TV show and followed by another model friend Sheena Liam who emerged as Asia's Next Top Model season 2 winner. I am proud of these amazing powerful girls who dared to dream and step up there to compete with girls across Asia, it takes alot of guts to leave your comfort zone and participate in a competition like this especially when you don't know what to expect. So that's where you get season 5's tagline: Expect the unexpected

In this industry, it's just full of surprises and as a model you'll never know what your next look will be, there are times you are going to love the look to bits or hate it but either way you still gotta make it work because that's your job, to make the most unsellable look; look fashionable.
It's not easy being a model, and let alone shooting for a reality TV show which can be more than just "quite" tiring as i had my fair share it with SASA's Cyber Colors Glamor Girl Search back in 2011.
That's where my modeling journey started, and i did learn from Malaysia industry's best too from catwalks, to poses and even make up!

Remembered how i had to take a 1 month leave for college just to do the shooting, and no contact with the outside world luckily that was before smartphones became an extension of us so we can survive without internet la.
For those of you who don't know, yes there was a point in my life i wanted to be accepted in the modeling world despite my unqualified height of 165cm and chubby-ish body size which lead me to starvation so that i can look like those stick thin runway models. It nearly cost me my life weighing lesser than 35kg, barely any energy to even wake up daily and that was the year i was supposed to be focusing on my final year graduation fashion show too.
That was my waking moment that i had to take control of my life again instead of giving in to anorexia nervosa for the sake of being obsessed with bones (i still am, just under control).

But i am glad that the modeling industry is slowly changing for the better, learning to embrace models of all sizes and diversities because we are all different and for them to specially reach out to normal people like us, we don't find stick thin models appealing in the clothes targeted for us.
This year, Malaysia has 2 charismatic and energetic girls, Shikin Gomez & Alicia Amin representing our country for this show, let's hope they make it to the finals!
The winner gets to bring home an all new Subaru Impreza, opportunity to grace the covers of Nylon Singapore and represent the world's biggest modeling agency- STORM MODELS MANAGEMENT.
