Welcome to my blog!

If you are in for an adventure paired with lengthy, quirky, brutal honest thoughts then you are in the right place.

My name is Arisa and was a cosplayer for 12 years in Malaysia before settling down in Kyoto, Japan. Exploring Japan full time has been a long time dream of mine, so let's explore it together!

KOSÉ Sekkisei: Japanese's Secret For Skin

My head is still fresh from seeing this brand in the Haneda airport 7 eleven convenience store (yes a frigging convenience store!) and you won't believe the price lol.
Comes to show that Sekkisei is one of the most renown skincare brand in Japan that is is considered an ESSENTIAL skincare product to the locals (japanese) hence it's found in every drug store/ convenience store you can find all over Japan.

My only regret was not buying more of this product when i was there. Damn It.
Comparing the prices obviously there would be about 30% cheaper compared to our local prices ranges from 500¥ -1500¥ (RM20- RM55) for single items and for bundled promo items it would be extra worth it as most products they throw in would easily cost more than what you pay :D Look out for those if you are in Japan!

Japan Beauty Shopping Tip #1:
BUY ALL KOSÉ SEKKISEI PRODUCTS!
Even if you have not tried them before, now is the best time to sapu/pao for yourself to try without feeling the wallet pinch lol. Explains why all the crazy china tourist went mad and raided most of them (2 baskets full!).
#OnlyInJapan you'll see this brand in a convenient store lol! It's considered mid range product, not as "premium" as we thought.

I never thought of using this brand prior before this as to me Sekkisei is considered a premium brand here in my country (Malaysia) hence it would be a wee bit expensive for my budget for skincare so i usually stick to innisfree :)
But recently i was sent a bottle of Sekkisei lotion as a gift from a special PR team. so i've decided to finally give it a try when i got back from my Japan trip because i noticed my skin started to become so dry & flaky forms start appearing throughout the whole day despite using Khiel's Daily Reviving Concentrate oil as a base & moisturizer before my make up (will write my review on this soon!).

It's funny to know how your skin reacts to different countries's weather, i honestly thought i came prepared skincare & make up wise but guess it could be hormones and whatnot trying to adapt.
In Japan it's just the beginning of autumn and temperature on average of 20°C - 18°C during the day and drops to 16°C- 14°C at night. Imagine being in an aircond room everywhere you go, sounds like heaven right to have such cooling temperature.
But because it's dry compare to Malaysi'a humidity, hence our skin starts to dry up. Even at this minimal rate my skin starts to flake, can't imagine during later autumn and winter lol i'm sure to shed whole body like a snake XD

Well upon coming back to Malaysia, my skin is trying to adapt again to our weather so my skin condition is still kinda wonky. I salute those whole travel alot wei..how they cope with this problems :-/ Any beauty tips my travelling buddies?
That's when i turned to Sekkisei lotion to deal with my skin problem especially my nose area as they flaking is making make up application a reach pain in the a*se.
Sekkisei lotion is Japan's known brand that pride itself for it's hydration effect & making skin translucent (fair) just like snow.

So let's put this to the test shall we? :-)

My skin is always extra dull looking without make up, from lack of sleep and poor diet since i started working full time, more break outs hence the scars around my chin, jaw area. Heard skin problems that surfaced around that area is caused by excessive toxins in the body not removed properly by our liver. Not sure, but gotta check with the dermatologist if this keeps up :-/

In this picture no skin products present, just a fresh clean face with drawn eyebrows and mascara or else i'll look too naked *kyaaa* >////<
So many pimple scars from my itchy hands :-/

Before & After under the same lighting, notice the skin radiance after one masking session using Sekkisei lotion. Freaking miracle wei!

Sekkisei lotion can be used with a cotton pad to dab on your fresh face before moisturizer as it's texture is light and water-like which makes skin absorbency fast without any sticky nor oily feeling, just refreshing. Aside from just using it as a normal toner/lotion, you may also DIY your own facial masks to pamper yourself at home over the weekend.

Skincare rule no.1 is always start with the lightest products like serum/ toner before moving on to heavier ones like moisturizer and SPF lotions. Read more about skincare regime tips here, if you are new to this kind of stuff.

Watch how to DIY & maximized the benefits of your KOSÉ Sekkisei lotion.

Benefits of Sekkisei Lotion
  1. Deep Hydration: Thanks to it's water light texture that helps the skin effectively absorb it in a short period of time
  2. Instant Brightening Effect: Gives you a healthy glow from a dull face
  3. Skin Whitening up to 1-2 shades: Upon long term usage whitening results are proven
  4. Soothes troubled skin: Helps alot to reduce my acne inflammation result of make up daily.
  5.  Soft & supple skin: After each masking session you will feel you skin tighter & bouncier
  6. Make up lasts longer: It's been proven many times, hydrated skin holds make up better for long hours.
This list is based on my observation upon using the lotion as a mask tri weekly (3 times a week). You might be wondering where the heck the mask came from right? lol
They are actually those compressed mask sheets found in beauty store/ pharmacy or even daiso which expands into a facial mask upon contact with water. They are shaped like large pills (10 cent coin x3 tacked together), so best keep away from children if you have any.

Now that i've discovered for amazing this product is, can't wait to go back Japan again to restock this brand lol.
For those who have been using this brand for a very long time and want to restock or looking to try this out for the very first time, i have great news because KOSÉ Sekkisei is having a special 30th Anniversary promotion set where you purchase lotion (360ml) + body wash (360ml) from only RM249+.
What i heard usually a price of just 1 bottle itself costs around RM200+ already, so this is quite a steal to get 2 full size bottles of KOSÉ Sekkisei products for that price!
Shall add this into my Christmas wishlist this year, those who have no idea what to get me can go view my wishlist ok? :-P

Yep, my small bottle can only last another 5-6 more masking session before it's gone :'(
Wish I've gotten a bigger bottle *sobs*.
