CRES Deep Tissue Healing Massage Review

First and foremost would like to thanks CRES Wellness for inviting me over to try out their latest spa therapy that has just been launched: DEEP TISSUE HEALING MASSAGE.

This is my second time visiting a spa, so I'm not really familiar with all the treatments and things they usually offer in beauty spas lol I think my first trip to a spa was with my mom (in courtesy of True Harmony Spa for sponsoring the prize in LAM's Mother's Day Contest last year ♥) upon receiving this email offer from CRES, I was pretty curious to tryout this new treatment because it sounds pretty interesting using teak wood for the massage. The first thought that came across my mind was something like kneeling a dough (me) with a rolling pin lol wtf

Haven't heard of CRES?
Here is a short summary of their company :

"Cres offers female customized, luxurious solutions that help them achieve a high level of wellbeing - and the end-products of beauty, namely Confidence, Relaxation, Elegance and Sophistication – words which form the acronym, “C.R.E.S”.Cres offers innovative facial services, administered by beauty therapists, which custom-treat each mind, body and spirit, based on the revolutionary products of Cellnique Paramedical – Asia’s first paramedical skincare brand. This is backed by a decade’s worth of experience and ground-breaking know-how in the beauty industry, as well as a deep insight into the lifestyles and needs of contemporary women. So here i am today to share my experience about this therapy, I sincerely apologize If I'm not too detailed about it >.< because I'm not really well informed about the stuff they used and how the procedure is..etc. But with my broken Mandarin knowledge I managed to get abit of info here and there from my masseuse.

Upon arriving at CRES's puchong branch that is located in IOI Boulevard for my 11.30am appointment, I was greeted by their friendly staffs, all smiles and pleasant atmosphere. The place wasn't hard to find because they had a huge banner hanging on the shoplot next to their outlet, can't miss it unless you are blind lol.

The poster is somewhere on the right, too big to fit in the picture liao lol

A cozy small outlet, clean well decorated

First thing they did was served me with tea which smelt and tasted somewhat like Chamomile Tea,
I was told to wait before they attended to me because they had another customer before me who had just finished her session with them.

Cellnique, one of the well talked about brands I hear from my fellow girlfriends. Don't know about it because I haven't used them before. If I remember correctly i think it's a skincare product :-P And noticed the little Teak woods they used as decorations? Don't they look exactly like mini rolling pins except without the handles lol wtf.
They only had one consultant while the rest are normal spa staffs, so I understand it must be difficult for the consultant to be handling every single customer single-handedly. It was less than 10 mins wait before the consultant, Lily Chia attended to me. I was given a form to fill in my particular details and health information for their future referencing (typical form you find in most spas XD)

Once I was done filling in the form without any delay I was ushered to the back of their massage room to proceed with my session. The funny part was when their consultant spoke to me in mandarin assuming I know the language just because I'm fair skinned -__- #firstworldproblems
and i cut her short saying my mandarin wasn't that good, immediately she kept quiet and handed me over to the masseuse lol so I assume her language proficiency in English wasn't too good i guess? Why does every spa I go to their consultants speak in Chinese??? T__T

Like I said, small yet cozy. The dimly lit room really gives a relaxing atmosphere.

How does this Deep Tissue Healing Massage works?

The various sized teak woods that was used in their massage.

Using natural old teak wood, to knead the muscles firmly by rolling and pressing with a certain amount of pressure to ensure it penetrates deep into the tissue of the body. They use different sized teak woods on various parts of the body (from small to big) to maximize leverage and gravity with different techniques such as sliding, rolling, kneading, pivoting, levering, tapping and friction techniques to reach deep tissue on commonly muscle strained areas such as neck, shoulders, back and legs.

Before the massage, I was told to go for a warm shower using their lemongrass scrub which smelt delightfully refreshing. They used Deep Sensual Massage Oil with the teak wood to massage all over the body, it pretty much smelt somewhat like ginger oil to me @_@ I have no idea what the ingredients are because it was hard to strike a proper conversation with the masseuse when you can't speak fluent Mandarin(;¬_¬)
All i can conclude about this oil is, it is suitable for people with dry skin like me because it leaves the skin feeling very moisturized and supple.

Personal experience about the massage?
I didn't really enjoy it because the process was VERY painful for me D: I literally felt like a dough being molded and rolled all over..maybe because my back bone juts out alot, so you can imagine the pain as the teak wood roller rolling all over my bones (felt ticklish at some parts lol)
Aside from the pain, I have to admit this massage was really relaxing in the midst of the pain (after half an hour) I think i managed to dozed off (* ̄(エ) ̄*)
My entire body was sore for the whole day, felt almost like my whole body was badly bruised lol but the following day I could feel my muscles are less tense than usual.
If you are a frequent massage-kaki, you would surely enjoy this therapy :-) Not recommended for those who have low tolerance for pain lolol.

My before and after pictures, guess their massage oil really works wonders by leaving my skin looking a bit more radiant and smooth

I would really love to know more about their products but due to the barrier between me and the staffs, conversations were pretty limited. /Sighs
Oh well, hopefully other branches has at least a consultant who can speak proper English :-/ Then i'll think of coming back for a 2nd therapy. Lol
Overall it was a great relaxing experience, thank you so much again CRES for having me over :-)
