PROFILE PICTURE

Welcome to my blog!

If you are in for an adventure paired with lengthy, quirky, brutal honest thoughts then you are in the right place.

My name is Arisa and was a cosplayer for 12 years in Malaysia before settling down in Kyoto, Japan. Exploring Japan full time has been a long time dream of mine, so let's explore it together!

DIY: Chocolate Chip AHOY!

I've been meaning to make this pillow prop for like 2 years? Bought the materials but never had the time to actually sit down and make it lol.
I would love to do step by step on how to make the plushie, but sorta forgot to snap the picture of the felt cloth before I cut it >.< Sorry!
But yeah, will list down the materials below so finding them won't be a problem

P/S: Daiso is a lifesaver lol

While doing this project something occurred to me and i never even knew it was possible to use those stuff as a guiding template for my chocolate chips (No kidding)

Not boast but according to most people, I am quite resourceful lol. Like opening a beer bottle with ice cream scoop & a pair of scissors, Making old bed sheets into cover cloths and etc. I have weird ways to solve things, but that makes me "one of a kind" 8D *trollface*
Guess that is a "USELESS SKILL" I've developed over the years of cosplaying at a strict budget (sorry for being so poor and unable to do imba props like cosplayers these days *sobs*)

You would even believe if i told you the headgear that I have made for my graduation collection is actually part of my mom's old flower vase decoration (she had them since I was 8?), which i took and never told her lol . Guilty as charged. Will replace those with new pretty roses soon mom :D

The usual me would ramble tons of rubbish before i get to the point *slaps self* but hey! My blog is the only place where I can SS (Syok Sendiri) all i want without being judged because if you don't like me I am not forcing you to read my blog no? :-P

Materials Needed
  • Felt (Light Brown, Dark brown, Black, White & Pink) - Available in Daiso (RM5)
  • Polyfill stuffing
  • HB Pencil
  • Fabric scissors
  • Sewing needle & thread or sewing machine
  • Round objects
  • eg: Compact powder, blusher..etc

Believe it or not, behold........................................ I was having trouble finding various sized round objects for my chocolate chips till i stared at my dressing table. I noticed most of my cosmetic stuff are shaped in a round casing and best of all it comes in various sizes!
Love how Japanese people design their stuff, comes in very efficient sizes, cute packaging that is too hard to resists and reusable too :D

Step 1:

Cut the felt according to your preffered size

I used my EYEMAZING cosmetics from J Pop Corner as a chocolate chip template XD The sizes was just nice.

Chocolate chips can be various of sizes depending on how you want it. Trace them on the felt and cut them out.

Step 2:

Amount of chips as desired and arrange the chips randomly all over the felt. Pin them down so they won't fall off as you sew.

You can sew them via machine(if you have) or hand stitching using "insang pari" method.

I've stuffed each chip with abit of stuffing to give it a 3D effect.
 Step 3:

If you are using machine make sure to leave a gap to turn your plushie inside out before stuffing it with polyfill. And finish off the hole with "insang pari"

And you are  done! Very own cute customized plushie at that you can proudly hug to sleep, carry around or even make as birthday gifts for friends and family.
If you are not too tired from all the sewing here, reward yourself with some chocolate chip cookies.

Amazing recipe here: http://www.52kitchenadventures.com/2012/08/14/perfect-chocolate-chip-cookies-recipe/

If you do have extra materials leftover from your plushie,  make yourself a matching beret like Katy Perry's California Gurls MV.

Once you are done, obviously be proud to camwhore/ show off your awesome handiwork ;-)
Great way to pass some time, affordable, cute, children friendly and it makes a very meaningful gift since it's handmade instead of bought.
Cheers! (๑・ω-)~♥”

Lol didn't realized i was looking down when my phone snapped this >.<

Pardon my dusty old mirror >.< Planning to get a full body one with a walk in wardrobe some day (hopefully!) lol
Thanks for viewing lovelies!
Love how my Galaxy S4 is able to make a GIF photo on the spot and don't need some online generator XD *lazy max*
